Based on documents obtained by The Blast, Marc Jacobs is planning on calling all four of them as witnesses in the case over copy-write infringement of the above Nirvana image. In 2018, Nirvana L.L.C. sued Marc Jacobs accusing him of ripping off the logo that they claim to have trademarked in 1992. Marc’s version replaces the “X” for eyes with an M and a J and uses the word “HEAVEN” instead of “NIRVANA” in a similar font.
Nirvana L.L.C. believes the damages by Jacobs total in excess of $1 million.
…Moral of the story, don’t steal Nirvana’s logos and make merch.
